I discovered curling during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and man, I am all over this sport.

Visual inspiration comes from everywhere. And boy, do I love my camera.

I used to sketch and scribble in a SNAP record book, which contained an inner pocket to keep things in. Here's what I kept in mine:
|
*A - Front cover is made from a record/LP. The back cover in turn is made from the original record sleeve. It's really quite nifty. *B - A punchline clipped from Emily Flake's Lulu Eightball comic: "May your honey be foul, your queen barren, and your drones recalcitrant"—ancient bee curse. Cracks me up. *C - I like daisies. |
*D - Postcards. Behind them, a pack of stamps. Occasionally when I'm sitting by waiting for something, I take out a postcard and write to friends. *E - Copy of a newspaper article I'd written that happened to be published on my 15th birthday. Not that I normally carry it around with me; at the time of this photo, I was planning a comic based on that article. *F - My business card, featuring one of the two lead characters from my Hugo & Bana comic. |
